In 2024 we started a strategic partnership with Empatica to strengthen our position in the clinical trial market. Empatica is a pioneer in digital biomarker development and patient monitoring driven by AI. Empatica integrated all of our 71 mobility endpoints in their digital biomarkers portfolio and FDA-cleared platform.
Our partnership with Empatica supports our strategy of offering a modular approach to mobility monitoring. You can choose to use our hardware, data management platform, and analytics individually or in combination. Additionally, you can now leverage EmbracePlus and Empatica’s Health Monitoring Platform to capture validated MoveMonitor and MoveTest outcomes, providing even greater flexibility and convenience for our clients.
“We are delighted with our partnership with Empatica,” said Martijn Niessen, CEO at McRoberts. “Combining our mobility analytics with their versatile platform and extensive array of physiological and behavioral biomarkers promises immense benefits for both our customers.”
Empatica’s Health Monitoring Platform is a cutting-edge solution for continuous, real-time health tracking. Designed for research and clinical applications and used in hundreds of clinical studies, it leverages advanced digital biomarkers to monitor sleep, activity and vital signs, including pulse rate, respiratory rate, sleep patterns, and stress levels. The additional MoveMonitor and MoveTest outcomes will enhance the Empatica Health Monitoring Platform with new measures on daily-life and in-lab human mobility.
“This partnership shows a maturing digital health industry,” said Matteo Lai, Empatica’s CEO and Co-Founder. “Established players are joining forces to provide a one-stop solution to sponsors across the world. You can get the best medical technology and validated measures with a long clinical history in the same place: this means less setup time, costs and patient burden.”
Empatica offers its own dedicated wearable for continuous health monitoring, the EmbracePlus. The EmbracePlus is designed for versatile wear, allowing users to choose from multiple body locations, such as the wrist or lower back, depending on their specific needs and use case. When choosing for the lower back it’s equivalent to our DynaPort sensor and can therefore be used for robust mobility assessment.
